Research work of the II Medical School

The II Medical School is a scientific center that unites scientists from almost all medical specialties. Doctors from almost 30 medical specialties, dentists from all dental specialties, psychologists, clinical psychologists and psychotherapists, laboratory technicians, physical therapists and occupational therapists, biologists, microbiologists, physicists, chemists, mathematicians, IT specialists and scientists from other specialties work in multidisciplinary research teams. It is precisely multidisciplinary nature that is the basis of scientific research and the undoubted advantage of classical university science.

The scientific and pedagogical team of the II Medical School is formed by 20 doctors of sciences, professors, and 50 candidates of sciences, associate professors, among whom are leading scientists of the country. The multidisciplinary nature of scientific teams, the practical orientation of research, the use of the capabilities of scientific units of Karazin University, and the high demand in the healthcare system for developments in the areas of scientific research of scientists of the II Medical School ensure the sustainable development of existing and the constant formation of new scientific initiatives.

Based on the results of their own scientific research, scientists of the II Medical School annually publish more than 50 scientific articles in professional publications, including those indexed by international scientometric databases Scopus, Web of Science and others. Researchers of the II Medical School regularly participate in all-Ukrainian and international scientific and practical conferences, congresses, symposiums, etc. The relevance of our scientists’ research is confirmed by a significant number of patents, and the international significance of the research results is recognized by the membership of scientific and pedagogical workers of the II Medical School in top international professional and scientific communities.

The II Medical School is constantly preparing several dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Candidate of Sciences) and Doctor of Sciences. The II Medical School is the organizer and co-organizer of five annual all-Ukrainian and international scientific and practical conferences, which traditionally bring together hundreds of scientists from almost 30 countries of the world. The II Medical School publishes the Kharkiv Dental Journal, which is the second journal in the country in this specialty, indexed by the world-famous scientometric database Scopus and included in category A of the List of scientific printed publications of Ukraine, in which the results of dissertations in the field of knowledge I1 Dentistry can be published.

The Scientific Society of Students, Postgraduate Students, Doctoral Students, and Young Scientists operates on a permanent basis at the II Medical School, which provides an opportunity for young people, under the guidance of experienced scientists, to take their first steps in science, and the results of research work are constantly recognized as the best at all-Ukrainian competitions of scientific papers and other events.
